Metallic nanoparticles are widely discovered in the soil and geogas over the concealed ore deposits, such as Au, Cu–Ni and porphyry Cu deposit. They are stable forms of metallogenic elements according to their similarities in characteristics of the shape, size, inner structure, and assemblage. Meanwhile, it is considered that nanoparticles in the soil come from ore bodies because they show the same features. Nanoparticles transported upwards by the ascending geogas from the depth to the surface through the overburden partly persist in the geogas and partly are captured by the soil geochemical barrier. The discovery of nanoparticles provides direct information for the geogas prospecting to find concealed ore deposits.
