In the past decade, there has been great interest in organic molecular and polymeric electroluminescent devices, particularly conjugated-polymer-based light-emitting devices (LEDs). 1r6 Electroluminescence (EL) is the emission of light generated from the radiative recombination of electrons and holes electrically injected into a luminescent semiconductor. EL combined with other unique properties of polymers, such as solution processibility, band gap tunability, and mechanical flexibility, make conjugated polymers excellent candidates for low-cost large-area display applications.
