I have found it fun, and perhaps even useful, to scale the interests of methodological factor analysts along this continuum.(Any of you who want your scale value, check with me after the meeting.) Engaging in a little self-analysis, I find that, on this continuum, I am an extreme left-winger. And, among methodologists, if not practitioners, I'm a little lonely there.
