This Guideline was first authorized by the International Association for the Properties of Water and Steam (IAPWS) at its meeting in Gaithersburg, Maryland, United States of America, 9-14 September 2001. The members of IAPWS at the time were Argentina and Brazil, Britain and Ireland, Canada, the Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Japan, Russia, and the United States of America. The President at the time of adoption of this document was Dr. Bert Rukes of Germany.
