9，10-双氯甲基-对称八氢菲（2）在AlCl 3存在下与式-八氢菲（1）转化为部分氢化的烃3;脱氢产生四苯并[a，c，h，j]蒽（4）。
9.10-Bis-chlormethyl-symm.-octahydrophenanthren (2) reagiert mit symm.-Octahydrophenanthren (1) in Gegenwart von AlCl3 zum teilhydrierten Kohlenwasserstoff 3, dessen Dehydrierung Tetrabenz[a,c,h,j]anthracen (4) ergibt.

9,10-Bis-chloromethyl-sym.-octahydrophenanthrene (2) reacts in the presence of AlCl3 with sym.-octahydrophenanthrene (1) to the partially hydrogenated hydrocarbon 3; the dehydrogenation yields tetrabenz[a,c,h,j]anthracene (4).
