Selenite ion in an aqueous solution could be effectively trapped in the zirconium sulfate-surfactant micelle mesostructure (ZS). The reaction proceeded through anion exchange between HSO 4 - in ZS and HSeO 3 -. The maximum sorption capacity of ZS for HSeO 3 - was 2.47 mmol g - 1 at 303 K.
