Electrical stimulation of the anterior cingulate gyrus or the orbital surface inhibited the pyloric antrum (balloon method) of anesthetized dogs. This effect of orbital stimulation was not altered by removing the cingulate gyrus. Stimulation of the central end of the vagus, splanchnic or somatic nerves usually inhibited the antrum, even following intercolliculo-mesencephalic brain stem section.
