Biaxial melt‐drawing produces a high‐performance poly(tetrafluoroethylene) (PTFE) membrane with excellent mechanical properties and superior transparency. Unique two‐step molding gives the better adhesion between the PTFE powder materials even with ultra‐high molecular weight of 107. Such void‐free film can be successfully biaxially drawn in the molten state. The resultant membrane exhibits high tensile strength of 120MPa and high transparency of 8.5% haze.
