MethodsWe interrogated a large commercial laboratory database (Prometheus Laboratories, San Diego, CA) with therapeutic drug monitoring (TDM) data on thiopurines (azathioprine, 6-mercaptopurine) and IFX. All 6-thioguanine (6-TGN) levels requested by treating physicians within 30 days of IFX and ATI testing were included. The 6-TGN levels were determined from red blood cell (RBC) lysates using reversed phase liquid chromatography coupled with UV detection; IFX and ATI concentrations were determined using drug-tolerant homogenous mobility shift assays (data on file, Prometheus Laboratories).
