Automatic Generalization is the prevalent and difficult issue at present in chart cartographic.Navigational aid is an important point element and its automatic generalization is an important content of chart cartographic;In this paper,based on the digital chart data,the problem of the automatic generalization of navigational aids was studied,especially its antomatic selection.Based on the rules of navigational aid distribution and classification,a model of navigational aid automatic generalization was presented,.The experiment showed that it was effective by using the model to generalize navigational aids.
