Language Learning & Technology vol. 15, no. 1 gathers five studies dealing with the use of telecollaborative exchanges for learning languages and cultures. Three of the studies (by Vinagre and Munoz, Bower and Kawaguchi and Kabata and Edasawa) deal primarily with second language learning and focus on error correction and the negotiation of meaning. A fourth (by Yang) explores notions of shared online space. The fifth (by Stickler and Emke) discusses the development by adult learners of intercultural maturity, in the course of a multilateral exchange.
The editorial commentary, written by myself and two co-editors, deals with the roles of teacher, learners and technology, as well as the issue of language use, in multilateral online exchanges.
