The aim of this review is to summarize the literature onCladophoragrowing in freshwaters, especially those situations where nutrient enrichment by man has led to the presence of conspicuous and sometimes troublesome growths. Literature reviewed byVanDenHoek(1963) andFjerdingstad(1965) is largely omitted. Limited unpublished data is included.
