We show that the Weinberg-Salam model has vortex solutions similar to semilocal strings for all values of the parameters. The stability of the solutions under small perturbations will depend on the parameters of the theory and, in particular, on the ratio of the Higgs boson mass to the {ital Z} boson mass.
