METHODSWe measured Cs and Cs’ of segments in isolated dog lungs. The change in volume of the segment was obtained from bronchograms. These were taken under homogeneous conditions, ie, when the whole lobe including the segment was exposed to the same distending pressure, and also under inhomogeneous conditions, ie, when the pressure in the segment was different from the pressure in the rest of the lobe.
