Study Objective: We sought to assess the impact of paternal involvement on adverse birth outcomes in teenage mothers.Design: Using vital records data, we generated odds ratios (OR) and 95% confidence intervals (Cl) to assess the association between paternal involvement and fetal outcomes in 192,747 teenage mothers. Paternal involvement status was based on presence/absence of paternal first and/or last name on the birth certificate.Setting: Data were obtained from vital records data from singleton births in Florida between 1998 and 2007.Participants: The study population consisted of 192,747 teenage mothers
