Aerzteblatt.de/lit3808本文的英文版本可在网上找到:www.Aerzteblatt-International al.de
SUMMARY Management of Patients With Aortic DissectionIntroduction:The incidence of acute diseases of the aorta will continueto rise as our population ages. Methods: Selective literature review.Results/Discussion:At centers specializing in maximum care,it is important that a specific strategy should be established in cases ofclinically suspected, acute aortic diseases, and non-invasive diagnosticmeasures should be taken without delay. If an acute aortic dissection is diagnosed, the necessary treatment must be provided immediately. As this disease is life-threatening,a cooperating network of referringphysicians and institutions should be set up in order to ensure optimaltreatment for these desperately ill patients.Acute type A aortic dissec-tions generally require surgery, while the primary treatment of uncompli-cated type B dissections is conservative and complicated type B dissec-tions can be treated primarily with stent-graft implantation. The referringmedical specialists and institutions should follow the patients closely after treatment so that any problems that may develop can be recogniz-ed and treated in timely fashion.Dtsch Arztebl 2008; 105(38): 639–45DOI:10.3238/arztebl.2008.0639Key words:aortic dissection, classification, diagnosis, endovascular treatment, surgical treatmentMit „e“ gekennzeichnete Literatur:www.aerzteblatt.de/lit3808The English version of this article is available online:www.aerzteblatt-international.de
