This paper illustrates the architecture of the distributed computing model-Web Services,and discusses implementation an extensible、robust and highly efficient distributed GIS application using some open sources of technology such as Struts and Hibernate,providing a new throughway for integrating GIS and other systems.Finally,the paper introduces a practical example of the project"Hefei Digital Map Portal".
