The results of 6 years' study of vitamin B6deficiency in monkeys are here summarised. They showed that vascular lesions occurred after from 5 to 6 months' complete deprivation of vitamin B6and were similar in character and distribution to spontaneous lesions of arteriosclerosis in man. In long-term experiments with monkeys partly deprived of vitamin B6, cirrhosis and changes in fat deposition in the liver occurred, and after 2 years or more the incidence of dental caries was high. The pathology of the changes in monkeys is discussed with reference to the possibility that long-term partial deficiency of vitamin Bgmay be concerned' in the aetiology of arteriosclerosis, cirrhosis of the liver and dental caries in man.
