This paper considers three epidemiological issues in relation to onychomycosis: (i) an overview of descriptive epidemiology of onychomycosis in Britain, with some reference to studies from overseas, (ii) a review of the range and composition of causative agents of onychomycoses seen in Britain, and (iii) a discussion of the limitations of current data in addressing important epidemiological questions.
