In the paper, we discuss Russian BYOD tendencies. A role of the tendencies in engineering education is envisaged. Our study focus is on the features of the BYOD phenomenon in the largest Russian technical university. We discuss our BYOD statistics and make conclusions about this opportunity in engineering education.
