The article discusses the development of experimental methods to measure the unsteady temperature field distributions around the parallel-plate heat exchangers under oscillatory flow condition. It discusses the design of the experimental apparatus based on the acetone-Planar Laser Induced Fluorescence (PLIF) procedure in oscillatory flow within thermoacoustic devices. It says that further optimization is needed for the PLIF system such as by reducing the acetone absorption of the laser energy.
