Headache patients (40) completed a headache interview, in dialogue with a computer, and then evaluated the program. Of the patients, 95% thought that the computer interview was easy to use, and 55% thought that the computer had obtained a complete history of their headaches. After the computer interview, a summary was printed for physician use, and patients were then seen by 1 of seven headache clinicians, who subsequently evaluated the computer summary. In 55% of encounters, the summary was considered useful.
