The nmr spectra of amphidinolide A, an antileukemic 20-membered mac-rolide isolated from a cultured symbiotic marine dinoflagellate of the genus Amphidinium, were extensively investigated by utilizing 2D nmr techniques including'H-'Hcosy, NOESY, HMQC, and HMBC experiments to substantiate the previously proposed structure 1. On the basis of the NOESY data a stereostructure la of amphidinolide A was proposed.
