Seed lot quality and processing technique of Acer caesium and Ulmus wallichiana seed samples from five different sources were assessed by filled seed percentage, purity per cent, 1000-seed weight, per cent viability, mean separation efficiency and filled seed per cent in upgraded fraction. The seed lot quality varied significantly among seed sources. Processing techniques such as incubation of seeds for 1 week followed by drying for 16hrs then separated by floating (IDS) in 95% ethanol of 0.807g/cm 3 density for 2-5 minutes and separation of seed by Dakota Type Seed Blower were found significantly effective for A. caesium, which improved filled seed and viability per cent over two times the original seed lot. For U. wallichiana the Laboratory Aspirator and floatation of seed in 95% ethanol of 0.807g/cm 3 density for 2-5 minutes improved the proportion of filled seed and germination percentage over five times.
