Catecholamines and a myriad of peptides are released by chromaffin cells in a constitutive and regulated manner, but no data are available in mice on the ratio of catecholamines to peptides that are released simultaneously in response to a secret agogue. The goal of this investigation was to examine whether mouse adrenal chro maffin cells in culture released norepinephrine (NE), epinephrine (EP), and neuropeptide Y (NPY) differentially in response to depolarization by KCl.
