Nd3+, Tm3+and Ho3+doped tellurite glasses with good thermal stability were prepared by conventional melt-quenching technique. The near-infrared luminescence properties were investigated under the excitation of 808 nm laser diode (LD). In the studied spectral range of 1200–2200 nm, two ultra-broadband luminescence bands of 1300–1600 nm and 1600–2200 nm were observed simultaneously in Nd3+/Tm3+/Ho3+tri-doped tellurite glass with amounts of 0.015 mol% Nd2O3, 0.32 mol% Tm2O3and 0.045 mol% Ho2O3, which have not been reported yet for this tri-doped combination. The full width at half maximum (FWHM) of this two luminescence bands were up to 203 and 374 nm respectively. In addition, the glass transition temperatureTgand the difference ΔTof the prepared tellurite glass were about 379°C and 136°C respectively. The structural property, spectroscopic property and fluorescence decay behavior were investigated to better understand the luminescence phenomena. The result of two ultra-broadband luminescence bands obtained at the same time in present work indicates that Nd3+/Tm3+/Ho3+tri-doped tellurite glass is a promising multifunctional application material.
