Administered job involvement (JI) questionnaires to 569 American government employees (mean age 37.5 yrs) and 1,123 Indian white collar workers (mean age 35 yrs). Findings indicate that a greater percentage of the variance in JI was explained by demographic and job characteristics for American Ss than for Indian Ss. It is suggested that religious values and philosophy exerted a greater influence on the work orientation and JI of Indians.(French abstract)(14 ref)(PsycINFO Database Record (c) 2016 APA, all rights reserved)
