ABSTRACT Reproductive tracts of 14½-day-old fetal rats were explanted without gonads and placed in organ culture with human testes, ovaries or adrenals from fetuses obtained in the first half of pregnancy. Fetal testicular tissue, irrespective of its age, inhibited the rat mullerian ducts; ovarian and adrenal tissue did not. The significance of these findings is discussed.
