An identification key for the Malacostraca of the Baltic Sea is given in this contribution. It includes all species (a total of 120) that have been mentioned in the available literature as having been found in the region from Kiel Bight to the northern and eastern parts of the Baltic. The taxonomical features of all these animals are illustrated (149 figures on 32 plates). A short diagnosis is given for all Baltic species, together with notes on their distribution in the Baltic and their ecology.
