Nuclear bodies were frequently observed in 67 cases of 15 different types of human disease and 1 experimental tumor and compared to those described in the literature. A classification of 5 different types is proposed, depending on their degree of ultra-structural development. Such inclusions are often observed in tumors, in virus-infected material, and in cells involved in secretion. They may also be found in normal tissues. Nuclear bodies are related to cellular hyperactivity, the cause of which may be physiological, hormonal, drug-induced, viral, or tumoral.
