New photocatalyts based on CaBiVMO8(where M=W and Mo) oxides were prepared by a solid-state method. The obtained CaBiVMO8powders were characterized by the XRD, UV–vis absorption spectra and BET method. The prepared CaBiVMO8materials show high photocatalytic activities for O2evolution and for organic compounds degradation.
