本文运用DEA方法计算了2002 - 2009年我国东、中、西部地区29个省份的生猪生产效率，并将生猪生产规模分为四类：分散进料，小规模，结果表明，生产规模越大，生产效率越高的观点并不成立，最佳生猪饲养规模为1000头，最佳生猪饲养规模为2000头具体地区的养殖规模应根据当地的资源、经济和地理特点而定，规模化养猪的优势凸显，我国养猪业的最高效率生产方式逐渐由散养向规模化转变。
Using DEA method,this paper has calculated the production efficiency of Eastern,Central and Western regions of China between 2002 to 2009,which cover 29 provinces.And the scale of live pig production has been divided into four kinds : scatter-feed,small scale,middle scale and large scale.The results show that it is not true that the bigger the production scale the higher the production efficiency.The optimal live pig cultivation scale of specific areas should be subject to the different local resources,economy and geographic features.The advantage of employing the advanced technology with large scale pig-raising was highlighted.The most efficiency production mode of pig farming gradually changed from scatter-feed to large scale in China.
