A radical mechanism for the fast cis‐trans isomerization of 1 is suggested by results obtained with the parent compound. By H abstraction (eg from the solvent) it forms the (Me 3 Si) 2 CH⊙ C (SiMe 3) 2 radical, detectable by ESR spectroscopy.(Figure Presented.)
