Resonance Raman spectra ofbc1complexes fromRhodospirillum rubrumhave been obtained. Various resonance conditions and the stoichiometric redox titration of the complex were used to isolate and identify the contributions of the hemec1and hemebactive sites to the observed spectra. The complex was found to partially photoreduce when exposed to laser excitation.
