RESULTSThe results of each of the three provoca tive tests for angle-closure glaucoma before and after iridectomy are shown in Table 1: There was a significant decrease in the per centage of eyes with positive reaction to all three provocative tests after iridectomy. In addition, the mean rise of the intraocular pressure in the eyes with positive reaction to each test was also significantly less after iri dectomy.Altogether, nine out of 76 eyes (12%) had a positive reaction to one or more of the provocative tests for angle-closure glaucoma in spite of peripheral iridectomy. In five eyes the prone-position test was positive, in five eyes the dark-room test was positive and in one eye the mydriatic test was positive. In two of these eyes a positive reaction to two provocative tests was found—to the proneposition and mydriatic tests in one eye, and to the dark-room and prone-position tests in the other.
