Standardising guidelines in urethrometry have been set up at the Department of Gynaecology of the Frauenfeld" Kantonsspital" hospital in collaboration with the Swiss working team for urodynamics. The article gives a detailed description of measurement technique, examination procedure and evaluation of curves. The standard values for continence, stress incontinence I and stress incontinence II/III are calculated. Finally, the article deals with the clinical interpretation of the urethral pressure profile.
