Ionospheric anomalies in total electron content (TEC) were observed by GPS before a strong earthquake. l CSES observed ionospheric anomalies in plasma parameters around the earthquake region simultaneously. l Ionospheric anomalies found in this study are possibly associated the 14 July 2019 M w 7.2 Indonesia Laiwui earthquake. l Citation: Wen, Y.
