The effect of annealing on the recovery stress of Ni–Ti wire has been studied by using a dynamic mechanical analyzer (DMA), TAQ800. The results show that the recovery stresses decrease with increasing annealing temperature in the range of 350–600°C and increase with increasing annealing temperature in the range of 600–900°C. It was found that the recovery stress is proportional to the plateau stress at room temperature, the recoverable strain under zero load and relative temperature increase above As.
