A new protocol for solid phase Biginelli condensations of beta-ketoesters, aldehydes and ureas has been developed. This method uses a Wang resin-linked GABA urea and provides dihydropyrimidines in a single operation in high yield and purity suitable for subsequent direct solution phase screening.
