2015 年から 2017 年にかけて, 宮古諸島でオオジュウイチとオニカッコウを記録した. オニカッコウは複数羽での長期滞在が確認されたことから, 繁殖の可能性も考えられる. 国内におけるこの 2 種の記録は増加傾向にあり, 今後分布を拡大させる可能性がある.
