In the first part of the text, the author rwinds of the trends in the control strategies for brucellosis snce 1965 in France : progressively it came from facultative medicosanitary measures to compulsory policies. Then, the results of the control strategies are given, displayed in every department over the years until 1991. The decrease in the incidence of bovine brucellosis since 1975 can be motived. The need for additional efforts is emphasized in arder to radicate brucellosis definitely, especially B. melitensis till prevalent in the south of France.
