Describes experimental programs to search for evidence for comparatively fine deficits and distortions of brain and behavior which may be imposed by comparatively minor modifications of the environment at or near a late stage of brain development-the" growth spurt." The relevance of findings in one species to another species is discussed with particular reference to man. Difficulties in assessing behavioral changes and possible dependence on physical findings are discussed.(26 ref)(PsycINFO Database Record (c) 2016 APA, all rights reserved)
