Die Zimtsauren 1 a-t sowie deren Derivate l u, lv und 1 w lassen sich mit Thionylchlorid zu den Benzo[b]thiophenen 2a-t bzw. 2v, w cyclisieren. 2a und 2 v, w konnten unabhangig aus den entsprechenden Alkinen mit Dischwefeldichlorid dargestellt werden.
Synthesis of Substituted Benzo[b]thiophenes
Cyclization of the cinnamic acids 1 a - t and their derivatives 1 u, l v, and 1 w with thionyl chloride affords the benzo[b]thiophenes 2 a - t and 2 v, w, respectively. 2 a and 2 v, w have been also prepared in an independent way from the corresponding alkynes and disulfur dichloride.
