FAMILY PROCESS is continuing to evolve beyond the boundaries of a paper journal. Through electronic networking, we plan to facilitate a new approach to creative intellectual exchange, thus inspiring new theory and innovative practice. Our subscribers will receive the paper journal, as always, but, in addition, they will be entitled to enter the secure interactive section of the Family Process web site that is being developed. Specifically, we are putting current issues of the journal, as well as the complete archives of past issues, online to be available to the worldwide community of family-oriented professionals. This is unique because there are few journals with completely available archives. Also unlike other online publications, this Family Process archive is searchable by key word, topic or author-including references. All articles, or selected portions of them are printable. This is a great research and teaching tool.In the future, the Family Process subscriber website will also allow for commentary and discussion of articles that have appeared in recent issues. There will also be direct links to authors of current articles, allowing readers to ask the authors) questions, engage in discussions of mutual interest, and develop potential collaborations. Also planned are links to other relevant sites, a section on training materials that will allow exchange between training programs to include an exchange of family/marital therapy videos and training tapes, a section on measures for family interaction and intervention research, and a career network. We also hope to conduct online international conferences on selected topics. To facilitate this process, there will be a Web Editor who will review all submitted content for appropriateness and quality using the same high standards currently held for the journal.
