Based on the front body structure of the electric vehicle Street Scooter the Institute of Vehicle Lightweight Design of the University of Siegen has developed an intelligent hybrid design of reinforced plastic and metal. Therefore the researchers rely on glass fibre reinforced thermoplastics (GRP) and show their suitability for mass production.
