Using bentonite as support, bentonite-based nickel catalyst for hydrogenation ofJatrophaoil biodiesel was prepared using [Ni(NH3)6](NO3)2as precursor. By this method, the aggregation of Ni crystallite on catalyst could be significantly suppressed, and the combination between bentonite and nickel has been enhanced. The anchoring of [Ni(NH3)6](NO3)2on bentonite was a key factor to facilitate the activity of catalyst for the hydrogenation ofJatrophaoil biodiesel.
