The last couple of years have been marked by technology, not by business. Today, companies are realizing that the use of IT must be tackled from a more processoriented point of view. This new approach is represented by re-engineering and the transformation of business processes. In addition, strategic and technical questions cannot be dealt with separately. In this article, a framework will be presented that encompasses the whole life-cycle, from business process design to information technology (IT) deployment, leading to a completely new process-oriented software concept. At the same time, the architecture closes the gap between business process modeling and IT-applications.
