The article presents a study about the potato root eelworm and tomato rootstocks. The disease-resistant tomato rootstocks, which were developed at the Naaldwijk research Station in Holland, are used to replace soil sterilization. Knowledge about the performance of grafted plants and their effect on the eelworm and rootstock, are found necessary in dealing with soils infested with potato root eelworm and root diseases. The study shows that the plants of the Dutch tomato rootstocks grown in steam-sterilized soil are effective hosts for these nematodes.
