The Large Block Test (LBT) is an in situ thermal test on an exposed block of fractured rock. Because the block is a well mapped fractured rock mass, it is a good candidate for analysis using discontinuum models such as the Discontinuous Deformation Analysis (DDA). This paper presents results of a three-dimensional (3D) DDA forward analysis of the LBT. The temperature histories measured at various points in the block are used as input into the 3D DDA forward analysis to compute the anchor point deformations of 2 multiple point borehole extensometers (MPBXs), WM-1 and NM-3. In general, the shapes of the plots of the computed MPBX anchor point deformations against time roughly match those of the measured ones. However, because the thermal expansion coefficient of the intact rock used in the 3D DDA analysis is actually 100 times the measured one, the magnitudes of the computed anchor point deformations should actually be smaller than the measured ones, if the actual measured thermal expansion coefficient was used.
