ResultsFigure 2 shows the percentage of correct responses and reaction times for each condition. First, a 2 (emotion: happy, angry)× 2 (reaction: approach, avoidance) withinsubjects analysis of variance was conducted on the correct response rate. The main effect of emotion (F (1, 31)= 0.686, p=. 414, ηp2=. 022) and reaction (F (1, 31)= 0.075, p=. 786, ηp2=. 002) and their interaction (F (1, 31)= 3.069, p=. 090, ηp2= 0.090) were not significant. The same analysis was then conducted for reaction time, and the main effects of emotion (F (1, 31)= 0.289, p=. 595, ηp2=. 009) and reaction (F (1, 31)= 3.067, p=. 090, ηp2=. 090) were not significant. However, the interaction (F (1, 31)= 13.453, p<. 001, ηp2= 0.303) was significant. Therefore, a simple main effect
